Cairn Terrier

Cairn Terrier | Retriever TrainerThis tricky dog really need to have a remote dog trainer for it will mess up your house.

Everybody loves Toto, right? What a trooper that dog was, keeping up on the Yellow Brick Road! Like him, Cairn Terriers are independent little bundles of energy. They are alert and active with the trademark terrier temperament: inquisitive, bossy, feisty, and fearless. They are intelligent and can be a bit mischievous.

Cairn Terrier | Petsafe Dog CollarWarn your flowers -- many Cairns love to dig! Obedience training is very important with this breed. They will try to test your limits, and are born assertive (but not aggressive). They are not usually problem barkers, but will bark if bored or lonely. They love their families and need attention and affection from their humans. They are protective of their families, and will defend their territory with courage and devotion, but they are also people-oriented and are friendly with everyone they meet. They love gentle children but will not tolerate mistreatment from anyone.

Cairn Terrier | E CollarsThey need regular exercise, but need to be kept on a leash or in a fenced-in area, as their prey drive is strong and they will chase small animals. They have been known to harass, and sometimes hurt, cats. They generally do well with other dogs, but will stand their ground if challenged. They love long walks and like to play ball, or simply tear around the backyard with the kids. They excel at obedience, agility, and tracking trials. They remain active and playful well into their teen years. They are companionable, loyal and loving. They make great listeners, perky playmates, and good foot warmers. They've been called "the best little pal in the world." And they are always a work in progress.

Bull Terrier

Bull Terrier | Pet GatesI know this clown dog will surely jump on a pet gates. So energetic.

The Bull Terrier is known as the "three-year-old child in a dog suit." These dogs are active, happy, clownish, and extremely attached to their owners and family. They love people unconditionally, and are friendly, sweet, and fun-loving. They are cuddly, and will try to curl up in your lap, even though they don't really fit. When you cuddle them, they have a sort of snort-purr that Bull Terrier parents find irresistible.

Bull Terrier | Pet GatesWhile they are incredibly charming, they are also stubborn and conniving. They certainly think for themselves. You will need to obedience train your Bull Terrier, because they are a strong dog, both physically and mentally, and you do not want to end up wrestling your Bull Terrier for control. They are very high energy and highly active and they need lots and lots (and lots) of exercise. A bored Bull Terrier will search, chew, and destroy. They can chew through a bulletproof vest. The Bull Terrier can be difficult to housetrain. They love children, but their rough and tumble style of play can easily flatten a young child. They like to join in the family fun and are tireless playmates, chasing balls for hours. They seem to thrive on your laughter and they will certainly get you chuckling with their antics. When they walk under something that tickles their back, such as a tablecloth, or a bush, their eyes will glaze over and they will slow their walk down, and look like they are sleepwalking. They also practice something called "hucklebutting." The dog will take off at full speed and sprint all over the house, through table legs, around corners, as fast as they possibly can. Sometimes they run into walls, but this doesn't slow them down.

Bull Terrier | Dog Car SeatsThey will also play chicken and run right at you as fast as they can, swerving to miss you at the last second. If you lose your nerve and step to the side, you could be seriously injured! They can do well with other animals, but are often aggressive toward same-sex dogs. They also have a prey instinct and often chase small animals. They can also be food aggressive. They make good watch dogs and have natural guard dog instincts. You will need to train a Bull Terrier to ensure that his natural instincts don't turn into aggression. So, if you like to laugh and are the easy-going type, you are sure to love the independent, energetic, challenging, and sometimes downright silly Bull Terrier. Just be aware that they act like a puppy, with a puppy's energy level, until they're about three years old. And if you put a coat on him in the wintertime, he will probably eat it.

Bullmastiff

Bullmastiff | Pet GatesSince this dog is a good companion, a dog car seats is a good personal gift for them.

If you are looking for a true best friend, the Bullmastiff might be for you.
These large and powerful dogs make excellent companions because they are so loyal and protective. They will want to go with you everywhere, be part of everything you do, and will not do well behaviorally if they do not get the attention they crave. They are good with children and are protective of them

Bullmastiff | Dog BathingThey are quiet dogs, but will bark loudly when they sense a threat. They are not always good with other dogs, and can show dog aggression, so it is important to socialize them early in life. They are natural guard dogs and can be territorial to a fault. While it is great that they will protect you with their life, they can also get into trouble by not allowing any other animals to trespass onto "their" property. Bullmastiffs are faithful, sensitive, intelligent, and eager to please. They are laidback (unless threatened), fearless, active, docile, spirited, and famous for the unconditional love they show their humans.

Bullmastiff | Dog Car SeatsThey are confident and can sometimes be stubborn. Their famous flaw is their slobber. You need to be prepared to keep a slobber rag in every room in your home, and you might consider offering one to your guests when they walk through your door, as your Bullmastiff will most certainly slobber on them as well -- Bullmastiffs do not discriminate with their slobber. Bullmastiffs are active but do not require excessive exercise, and can live happily anywhere, including apartments, as long as they have lots of company and are given lots of attention.

Bulldog

Bulldog | Dog FenceThis clownish dog will look great if it is wearing a leather dog collar.

The Bulldog, also known as the English Bulldog, is friendly, calm, gentle, and good-natured. He is a couch-potato! He loves to curl up on the couch and sleep all day. He's stubborn and unwavering. If he doesn't want to do something, you'll have a hard time getting him to do it!

Bulldog | Leather Dog CollarHis clownish behavior will make you laugh. He forms a strong bond with children and is very good with them. He thrives on lots of attention and love from his family. He can be a very destructive chewer so give him plenty of chew toys and hide your slippers.

Bulldog | Remote Dog TrainerHe's a homebody; he isn't the kind of dog to wander off and prefers to stay in the yard close to home. He drools and slobbers a lot -- especially after eating and drinking (expect mess). He often has wind (flatulence) and it can be quite smelly. He snores loudly and snuffles, snorts and grunts frequently. His flat face and short nose causes him to overheat in hot weather. If he does you will need to take him inside in the air conditioning or allow him to rest in the shade until he cools down.

Brussels Griffon

Brussels Griffon | e collarsSmall dog houses will be suitable in this little dog.

Brussels Griffons
are happy little "Velcro" lapdogs. They usually attach themselves to one or two people in the household and will want to be with that person 24-7. He will want to sleep with you, go to the bathroom with you, and sit on your feet while you do the dishes. You will never be alone again.

Brussels Griffon | dog housesThe Brussels Griffon does not do well if he does not get lots of companionship -- he will become sullen and withdrawn. A well-cared for Brussels Griffon is a cheerful, charming, curious companion dog. They are intelligent and sensitive and do well with obedience training. They can be taught to perform a variety of tricks. And if you laugh at them, you will only encourage them, as they love to act like the home's court jester. They are very eager to please you. Making you happy makes them happy! They are good at obedience trials, agility competitions, conformation, and tracking trials. However, they can be difficult to housetrain and are sometimes stubborn about walking on a lead.

Brussels Griffon | petsafeThey make good watchdogs and will bark when someone comes to the door, but they are often shy with strangers and new situations. They like to be active. (They are especially energetic the first couple years of life.) They will want to take daily walks, and they love to romp and play, running circles around your house just for the fun of it. They do best with a dog fence in yard so they have room to run around. They get along well with other pets, but they don't know they are small, so they might try to dominate larger dogs and get hurt. They are so small that most breeders will not let them go to homes with very young children, who might unwittingly injure the dog. If you are looking for an affectionate, somewhat self-important, toy dog who will need to be an integral part of your family, a dog with almost human expressions, the Brussels Griffon might be for you!

Brittany

Brittany | PetsafePetsafe pet collars are really applicable in this great hunter.

The Brittany is an award-winning, widely-admired hunting dog, and has recently become popular as a family pet, due to their happy, friendly, affectionate disposition and their intelligence and versatility. They are people-oriented and attention-loving. They will need to spend a lot of time with you.

Brittany | PetsafeThey do not do well if left alone for long periods of time. They love to be loved, but they also love to work. They need a job to do, as they crave mental stimulation. Boredom, loneliness, or pent up energy will lead them to destructive behavior. So they also need lots of exercise.
Brittany | Patio Pet DoorsThey love to run and will need to do so daily. A busy Brittany is a happy Brittany, and they do well with children, and most Brittanys do well with other dogs. (Some Brittanys show aggression towards other dogs and cats.) It is said that Brittanys are not a breed for generalizations -- they range from high-strung to mellow, and from docile to stubborn. But usually they are gentle, active, alert, and playful dogs who make great companions in a home with an active lifestyle.

Briard

Briard | dog agility equipmentBeing a bright dog, it must have a dog agility equipment for its training.

The Briard is a herding dog, bred to work, but because he also thrives on human companionship, he makes an excellent family pet for the right family. The Briard is an independent thinker and requires patient training. A Briard parent must show the dog who is boss early on. Once the pecking order is established, a Briard will possess an ardent desire to please his master.

Briard | Dog Agility EquipmentThey are smart dogs, often understanding many of the words people say. They are usually easy to housetrain. They are athletic, agile, and fast, and enjoy agility, carting, herding, tracking, and obedience work. They also enjoy jogging, hiking, camping, and swimming. They like to play in water, whether lake, pool, or mud puddle. These are dogs who need to be busy and active. They are very high-energy and need daily exercise.

Briard | Electric Pet CollarThey love to play outdoors with their people, but when the day is done, they will insist on following you inside. In fact, they will follow you everywhere. They will lie on the bathmat while you shower, go for rides with you in the car, and want to sleep beside you. No matter their size, they think they are lapdogs. Human contact is essential to their wellbeing. If you don't want a dog underfoot, you don't want a Briard. Also, their beards get dripping wet, and a Briard is known to take particular pleasure in resting his big head in your lap just after taking a nice, long, cold drink.
